How a coopers hawk digests food 

The full process of digestion has many steps from eating to waste:
 1. The ingestion of the coopers hawk is how it gets the prey into its digestive track. the coopers hawk is notorious  for how it kills its prey. there are cases of the hawk choking or even drowning its prey.the coopers hawk will either swallow parts whole or rip it into smaller peaces. 

2.The Digestive track of a coopers hawk. the food moves down the esophagus then the food goes into the crop for the hawk to digest it more slowly. Then it goes to the proventriculous  there it is softened by gastric acid, next the food is broken down into smaller pieces in the gizzard. After the food is ready to be handled it is moved into the small intestine for nutrients to be sucked out by the liver and pancreas. the ceca absorbs any extra water from the food and ends the digestive process. 3. the waste is a fairly simple process. after digestion the remaining material goes through the cloaca to be defected from the birds body.
