Reproduction
Organs :
The main organ is the cloaca which both sexes have. The male has two tests in his body, they grow toward mating season. the tests changing increases the size of the tubules. Inside the tubules sperm cells are made. another action the tests can make is produce testosterone when the sperm departs from the tests it goes through a relatively small tube called the epididymis. Later the sperm goes into another tube called the ductus deferens. This tube is much skinnier and longer. Then the sperm goes into the cloaca. inside the ductus defernes is the psittacines. the psittacines is the storage department for sperm. The last step of the process is when the sperm becomes a acrosome which has a front and back. It now contains enzymes, which let the sperm go into the egg. The female needs to be receptive to mate, once she is the birds have sex. the females role will be explained in the development section.

Age of sexual maturity:
. Coopers hawks usually breed at age two sometimes age one.
Mating behaviors:
. Sometimes the first time they breed can have problems, this is usually because of territory competition or other species competing for food
. Coopers hawks do not have a strict parter relationship, they can stay with a mate for many years or change partners every year.
. Once the male has found a territory to breed, he needs to defend it and find a woman.
. One unique characteristic that only the coopers hawk does is use vocal or aerial movements to attract a female and show dominance over his spot. These movements are mostly chases, dives, flying or running in circles, and sometimes cartwheeling .Usually the male balances on the female and she will lift up her tail to open the cloaca and he will lean in so both of their cloaca touch. Once this happens the sperm quickly goes inside of hers. They will do the process many more times during about a week to increase the probability it will work and be successful.
Other :
. There is no definite answer but for most hawks the chromosome haploid number is 66

. unlike humans there chromosome letter is the opposite the male has the same letters ( zz ) and the female has two different letters (zw )
Development
. The coopers hawk will be in the egg for about 27 to 31 days
. it is usually fully mature at about 1.25 to 1.5 years old
. they live less then 12 years but one coopers hawk lived 20 years and 4 months
. Stages of an egg :
. it takes about a whole day for the egg to go through the reproductive track
. When the yoke is ready it goes into the ovarian ( tube ). later it goes into the infundibulum, this fertilizes the little egg. then it goes into the magnum then albernin goes on top of the egg. this adds layers. then the last stage isthmus is when another outer and inner layer are added finishing the process. The female sits on the eggs to keep them warm
. The female makes about four to five greenish white eggs per year
. Both the male and the female care for there offspring. The female by tending to the nest and providing warmth. The male by making the nest and hunting for the family.
